It can be a very difficult thing to choose the best exterior paint colors for small houses. The front part of the house is very important since all people on the street should be impressed with it. If it looks gloomy, people will hate seeing your house across the street. Besides impressing other people, you will feel happy and comfortable living in it due to its beauty and style that the house has.
Decide whether you want to have a two or three-color combination. The common one is by combining two different colors. One serves as the primary color, while the other one is the secondary color. It means that the primary color will cover around 70 to 80 percent of the house exterior. The secondary color takes the rest. The wall should be painted in the primary color. The secondary color is spotted on the smaller parts of the house exterior like window shutter, roof, windowsills, door or railing. If you want to add the third color, it can used to paint the door and crown molding. The detailing should bear the third color.
Beach styled house design
If you are interested to bring the relaxing or peaceful mood, the beach-inspired colors are perfect to have. Paint the exterior wall in soft blue or Mediterranean blue tone. The classic white tone is spotted on the door, window and railing. Put some wicker chairs and coffee table at the porch along with a nice swing for excellent view during the summer season. The dark blue tone is also great to have as long as you use it as the secondary tone. The first tone should be in white. Therefore, the small house looks bigger to view.
The bright colored house design
Though your house is very cute, you can make it chic, playful and stunning by repainting the exterior in bright tones. They include lime green, hot pink, brunt orange, butter yellow, mint green and lilac tone. If you have gone to Italy or Spain, you will be stunned with the colorful houses on the street. They mix and match two until three different bright colors for wonderful vibrancy.
